Tiago Pereira da Silva, widely known as Tiago Orobó, has carved his name into K League history with a prolific goal-scoring record. With over 50 goals in just three seasons, Orobó has solidified his legacy in South Korean football as tje golden striker.

His remarkable adaptability has seen him become a pivotal offensive force for several clubs across the country, notably spearheading the attack for Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, one of Korea's most decorated teams, which currently leads the K League 1.

Born on October 28, 1993, in Orobó, Brazil, Orobó honed his craft in the Brazilian leagues, developing into a classic "number 9" – a central striker with an innate predatory instinct for goal. While his early career saw him move between various clubs in his homeland, it was his arrival in South Korea that truly propelled him into the spotlight and established his reputation as a formidable marksman. Orobó's arrival in the K League 2 with Gyeongnam FC in 2022 was a clear statement of intent. He swiftly proved his worth, quickly adapting to the demanding pace of Korean football. His debut season was nothing short of remarkable: he netted an impressive 19 goals, topping the second division's scoring charts and transforming Gyeongnam into a serious contender for promotion.

This immediate success paved the way to the K League 1 in 2023, where he joined Daejeon. The step up to the top flight didn't hinder his performance. On the contrary, Orobó cemented his reputation as one of the league's most lethal attackers, tallying 17 goals and 7 assists in 36 matches. This outstanding display made him the second-highest scorer in the K League 1, just behind Joo Min-kyu, a feat that solidified his status and put him firmly on the radar of the league's biggest clubs.

Orobó's effectiveness doesn't stem from dazzling speed or impossible dribbles. Instead, his game is built on intelligent positioning, imposing physical strength, and a remarkable clinical finish inside the penalty area—the quintessential traits of a classic number nine.

His playing style is a potent mix of astuteness and power. He possesses the ability to score with both feet, and his aerial prowess stands out as one of his most significant weapons, a fact he's consistently demonstrated with powerful headers and precise volleys throughout his initial seasons.

The forward's impact was palpable on December 27, 2023, when he sent shockwaves through the South Korean transfer market: Tiago Orobó was joining Jeonbuk Hyundai. This wasn't merely the acquisition of a prolific scorer; it was a clear statement of intent from a club that, despite its glorious recent past, had experienced a somewhat inconsistent 2023 season. Jeonbuk was looking to revitalize their attack, and Orobó was the central piece of that puzzle.

Golden striker

Orobó's arrival at Jeonbuk represented a natural progression in his career, joining a team with consistent aspirations for domestic and international titles. For the "Green Warriors," his signing was the solution to their lack of attacking prowess, a major weakness in the previous campaign. In the current season, Orobó has already begun to make his mark at Jeonbuk. The Brazilian has embraced the role as the top striker, boasting a run of four goals in his last five league matches.

The arrival of the number "9" was no accident; it's a promise that, step by step, is taking on the look of a title-winning season.
